The Impact of Camp

As a branch of the Duluth Area Family YMCA, Camp Miller has enhanced the mind, body, and spirit of thousands of youth since 1898. Today, we continue to strengthen the development of youth through activities that focus on teaching the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Camp works to instill positive life skills that foster a healthier well-being through healthy food choices, ample opportunities for outdoor physical activity, and an overall sense of healthy living. Through programs that promote environmental stewardship and education, we hope to immerse and connect campers to the wonders of nature, inspiring a lifelong appreciation and a sense of social responsibility for the outdoors.

The Impact of Donors

One of the many reasons Camp Miller is able to make an impact on the lives of campers is through all of our generous donors. Through this support, we are able to provide an experience that lasts a lifetime to campers regardless of their background. Not only do donors help build up our scholarship fund, but they also make it possible to build new programming features throughout camp (Jack McLeod High Ropes Challenge Course), new facilities to learn about the history of Camp Miller (Jeff Palmer Museum), and begin new traditions to be passed on from year to year (Thursday night dinners under the beautiful Boman Pavilion).

The Tall Pines Club

The Tall Pines Club is a new initiative at Camp Miller to recognize many of our generous donors. We want to let donors know that through their efforts, Camp Miller can continue making a positive impact on youth for at least 118 more years.

By donating $1000 or more during the year, you too can become a part of this unique club. Knowing that you are making a positive impact on Camp Miller is a benefit in itself, but we want to go further in recognizing the individuals who continue to support us on a large scale.

Benefits of Joining the Tall Pines Club

In order to thank individuals for donating to Camp Miller, Tall Pines Club members will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Recognition in our Annual Report and Quarterly Newsletters
  • Personalized Tall Pines Club Camp Miller apparel
  • Opportunity to reserve a space at camp at your leisure

At YMCA Camp Miller, strengthening youth is our cause. Through Y friends and donors like you, we can continue to provide an impactful experience for the youth of the Northland and beyond. Every gift makes a difference. Everyone has a role to play. Together, we can do so much more.
