Programs and Development Director   Ina Newton

Ina Newton - Camping Services Coordinator

Ina Newton’s first camp experience came at age eight while growing up in Hawaii.  She helped her mother design and operate Camp Likolehua, which lead to a future in youth and camping services. Before moving to Duluth, Ina worked as Program Director for the Boys & Girls Club as well as Youth Activities Coordinator for a YMCA.  Ina has a drive for both non-profit organizations and summer camps.  She believes in  the benefits both have on their community.  From the moment Ina met Bridgit and learned of her vision and excitement for the future of Camp Miller, she knew she wanted to be a part of its already amazing 112 year history.

Melissa’s first camp experience was at Camp Miller as a camper for Horseback Camp. She has fond memories of her times at camp and during the summer of 2010 had the opportunity to return to Camp Miller as the Day Camp Coordinator. During that time she developed a greater love for camp and all that it has to offer children of all ages. Melissa has her BA in teaching from Northwestern College, and as a teacher, she values the education that the great outdoors brings and is eager to continue working and promoting Camp Miller so that more children can benefit from all it has to offer.
